Church Women United-Childhood Hunger Event

WORLD COMMUNITY DAY, sponsored by Church Women United of our area, will be held on March 2 at 11:00 AM at Trinity United Methodist Church. The church is located at 3819 Country Club Road. The theme for this year is "Abiding in Community" . The project focus this year will be on childhood hunger. Unfortunately, the area surrounding Winston-Salem was ranked the worst metro area in the United States in having families with children that had a hard time putting food on the table, according to a new study. Church Women United will be participating with the Second Harvest Northwest Food Bank in their Backpack Program. Checks will be received and should be made out to the Northwest Food Bank, earmarked the "Backpack Program." The BBC documentary, "Pray the Devil Back to Hell", about a group of Liberian Women of all faiths who stopped a civil war with prayer will be shown. All women are invited to attend.
