2014 Fall Celebration and Study Book Work Shop

On Saturday, September 6, 2014, 79 women gathered at the beautiful Oak Grove Moravian Church in Winston-Salem, North Carolina for the Fall Celebration and Study Book Workshop. There were 19 churches represented at the event that is held each year for all women of the Southern Province.

Reverend Judy Knopf led us in a moving worship service.

Reverend Ginny Tobiassen led the Bible Study Workshop, presenting the book "Prayer Your Greatest Privilege" by Bishop Robert Iobst. As always Ginny spoke of many ideas to being new life to this beloved book first published in 1986.

Reverend Patty Garner reviewed the mission book for this year: "Women in Mission, Making a Difference in our World" Volume II. She also shared with the attendees the many heartwarming successes of the Unity Women's Desk.

The women of the Oak Grove congregation prepared a delicious meal for the group. As the meal was being serviced Bishop Sam Gray and Armando Rusindo, President of the Moravian Church in Cuba arrived to bring greetings. He spoke of the decision he ad to make when faced with holding a Women's Conference in Cuba or a meeting to approve the Book of Order for the newly formed group of churches. The room was soon filled with laughter, Christian fellowship and joy upon hearing of the successes of the Moravians in Cuba.

Our Ship - Oasis of the Seas - Photo Cred: Kari Vetter July 2025 Dear Sisters, It seems like it was only yesterday that I was sitting in a meeting in Charleston, West Virginia listening to details about the 14th Women’s Conference. Fast forward two years later and WOW! I had a blast on the cruise. Congratulations on a job well done. Committee members thank you! I was a first time cruiser and conference attendee. I had never been to Jamaica. So as you can see there were many things that were a first for me. Would I do this again? Oh, yes! I can’t wait to see what and where the Northern Providence decides to hold the 15th conference. I was not disappointed in the ships accommodations. My room was adequate in size and I had a large window to watch the waves. The many dining areas really surprised me. The service and food was wonderful. I felt really pampered!
